Workshop "Inclusion in the workplace"
Disability Rights Action Days August 27 – September 10, 2022
As part of the 2022 Disability Rights Action Days, Profil Arbeit & Handicap is holding a workshop on the topic of "Inclusion in the Workplace."
The workshop provides basic knowledge about the inclusion of people with disabilities. It is aimed at interested employers (managers, HR specialists) and people with disabilities.
The following questions will be discussed:
- What does inclusion mean and how does it differ from integration?
- Can a person receiving disability benefits work in the primary labor market?
- How do I pay a person with a disability?
- What do we look for when hiring a person with a disability?
- etc.
The workshop also addresses the topic of inclusive workplaces : an important part of professional integration that is not yet well known in society. Inclusive workplaces are jobs in the primary labor market for people receiving disability benefits and represent an alternative to jobs in workshops. This allows companies to tap into the vast and diverse potential of people with disabilities.
The workshop aims to give both sides a voice: it will also address the perspectives and concerns of people with disabilities. Why it is important for them to work in the primary labor market and what stigma is associated with a job in a workshop for people with disabilities.
The workshop aims to provide information and knowledge on the topic of inclusion in the workplace. However, it should also allow enough time and space to address the various concerns of the participants and pursue individual questions.
The workshop is led by experts from the foundation, and a person with a disability (employed in an inclusive workplace) shares their practical experiences.

About the Disability Rights Action Days 2022
People with disabilities face obstacles every day, whether it's accessing buildings, local transport, information, events, or shops. This should no longer be the case. The canton of Zurich and many municipalities are making efforts to remove these obstacles. To enable the various stakeholders to benefit from each other and to combine their strengths, the Cantonal Social Welfare Office (KSA) and the Disability Conference of the Canton of Zurich (BKZ) are organizing the "Disability Rights Action Days" together with their partners.
A wide variety of activities are carried out to implement the UN CRPD. The action days bring the issue of disability rights to the attention of the media, communities, and thus society as a whole.
The action days are a collaboration between the Cantonal Social Welfare Office and the Conference for People with Disabilities in the Canton of Zurich. The project is financially supported by the Federal Office for the Equality of People with Disabilities.
