It is crucial that the equality of people with disabilities is a priority in Swiss politics. Approximately 1.7 million people with disabilities live in Switzerland. The Inclusion Initiative advocates for people with disabilities to be able to lead independent and self-determined lives.
Inclusion: People with disabilities bring many strengths to the table and enrich teams. Yet they remain largely invisible in the workplace. Eva Meroni, Executive Director of Fondation Profil, therefore advocates for an education system that prioritizes inclusion starting in kindergarten.
Profil Arbeit & Handicap is a partner in a groundbreaking national pilot project:
The federal government and cantons want to provide greater support to older job seekers. The new "Supported Employment" program is aimed at people over the age of 50 whose entitlement to unemployment insurance (ALV) is about to expire. The aim is to help them re-enter the labor market on a permanent basis using the "Supported Employment" method. The aim is to find a suitable job in the primary labor market as quickly as possible and to keep it permanently. Fourteen cantons across Switzerland are supporting the program, which will run as a pilot project from 2021 to 2024.
