Bern: Assistant for a private individual

Digital Training & Work Integration Assistant approx. 10% (m/f/d)

What you can expect:

  • Training: Hands-on training with iPads and computers, as well as instruction in Apple and Microsoft applications and accessibility features such as magnification, text-to-speech, voice control, and dictation.
  • Digital Workflows: Training in email, calendars, the Internet, document processing, and file storage.
  • Promoting independence: Developing daily living and work skills, resilience, and the use of appropriate assistive devices and individual strategies.
  • Planning and Conducting Training: Work with the person receiving support and their occupational therapist to develop a personalized training plan, prepare exercises, carry them out, and repeat them as needed. 
  • Supporting progress: Assessing and documenting progress, and working together to adjust goals and the next steps in training; later, also integrating work-related digital tasks.

What you'll bring to the table:

  • Education or experience in occupational therapy, social work, education, psychology, or computer science
  • Tech-savvy, with strong knowledge of Apple/iPad and Microsoft products, as well as an interest in assistive technologies.
  • An understanding of independence, work skills, and building resilience.
  • Patient, empathetic, and organized, with a passion for explaining things clearly.
  • Good to very good English, as well as a good command of German.

Here’s what we’re offering you:
You’ll be supporting an open-minded woman in her mid-30s as she makes her way back into the workforce. She has international professional experience in the field of children’s and human rights, is the mother of a three-year-old daughter, and loves literature and blind jogging. Through digital training and assistive technologies, she hopes to further build her independence and return to the workforce.

Work location:
City of Bern, near Monbijou

Work hours:
2–3 hours per week
